The success of the Miss Spider publishing and television programs spawned a consumer lifestyle brand called Sunny Patch—a world of thoughtful, trend-setting products that come alive through the fusion of original characters with eye-popping colors, innovative design, and lasting quality. The line launched in 2003 at more than 1,500 Target stores nationwide, and grew to achieve sales of over $65 million, becoming the entire kids’ gardening department in 2006. In 2008, Callaway partnered with Melissa & Doug, Inc. to expand the Sunny Patch brand outside Target stores into more than 20,000 specialty toy, gift, and lawn and garden accounts.
